Ask the expert: Is it worth having a pre-nuptial agreement if I get married?

When you have met the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with, why would you want to consider a Post Nuptial Agreement? Many don’t and decide to marry without one. However, having a Post-Nuptial Agreement is becoming increasingly common for those that marry. This is particularly true for those who have been married before and for those that have acquired significant assets before they marry. Given that the average age of men that marry in England is 38 and women is 35, many of them will have acquired assets of their own before they meet their partner and may want to protect these assets if they divorce.
