Fixed fee divorce packages

On the basis that your divorce proceeds on an undefended, uncontested basis and you or your spouse has jurisdiction to issue proceedings in England and Wales then you can take up one of our divorce fixed fee packages. The cost of your divorce will depend on whether you are the party filing for the divorce (the petitioner) or Responding to a divorce which has been issued at court (the respondent).

How much does it cost to file for divorce?

On the basis that your divorce proceeds on an undefended, uncontested basis and you have jurisdiction to issue proceedings in England and Wales then you can take up our divorce fixed fee package which is £750 + VAT (£150) + court fees (£550). Total cost £1,450.00.

What is included in a divorce fixed fee package?
  • An initial consultation and advice from a specialist solicitor
  • Your solicitor will go on court record as acting on your behalf
  • Preparation of the divorce petition
  • Preparation of the request for directions for trial and supporting statement following receipt of your spouse’s acknowledgment of service
  • Forwarding your Decree Nisi and applying and sending to you your decree absolute of divorce Solicitor will complete all necessary paperwork, communicate with the Court and your spouse and progress your divorce through to Decree Absolute on your behalf
  • We will keep you updated throughout your case by telephone, email or in person
What is not included in a divorce fixed fee package?
  • Any advice in relation to financial or children matters.
  • Where your spouse is living in another country
  • Defended proceedings or where your spouse fails to sign the divorce papers.

How much does it cost for a divorce respondent?

On the basis that you are not defending the divorce proceedings our divorce fixed fee package is £250 +

VAT (£50). Total cost £300.

What is included in your fixed fee divorce service?
  • An initial consultation and advice from a specialist solicitor
  • Your solicitor will go on court record as acting on your behalf
  • Writing on your behalf to your spouse or their solicitor
  • Completing the acknowledgment of service
  • Notifying you of the court date for pronouncement of Decree Nisi
  • Forwarding your Decree Nisi and Absolute.
What is not included in your fixed fee divorce service?
  • Any advice in relation to financial or Children matters
  • Where your spouse has issued proceedings abroad
  • In some cases, the Petitioner may seek to claim recovery of costs from the Respondent. We willmtry to negotiate a reasonable compromise but ultimately, these costs may be payable by you.
  • Attending court if there is a costs dispute
  • Applying for Decree Absolute if your spouse fails to do so.
Advantage of a divorce fixed fee

The advantage of a divorce fixed fee is that you have peace of mind and certainty as to what your case will cost. It may be possible for us to pursue an order for costs against your spouse. This is something we will discuss with you at our first appointment.
